Thisis50.com has leaked a new Justin Timberlake tracked titiled “bigger than the world.  According to mtv.com The song, which sounds unfinished, features Timberlake singing in a light falsetto reminiscent of Robin Thicke (or perhaps it’s Justin sounding like Robin Thicke sounding like Justin) accompanied by a pulsing mid-tempo beat, keyboards and guitar. According to some online reports, the track was produced by Timbaland, and was posted on ThisIs50.com on Thursday. Toward the end, the beat drops out and the song ends with just piano.

I just heard it for the first time and I am undecided.  But what I do like is that his sound has not changed at all from his last CD.  Tell me what you think.

EMINEM’S NEW SONG “CRACK A BOTTLE”

Posted in What's New with tags , , , on January 15, 2009 by yvetteraven

eminem

Eminem has a new song.  Its been a long time coming but Eminem’s new song “Crack a bottle” featuring Dr Dre and 50 cent has hit the web.  According to MTV.com  Several weeks ago, an unfinished variation of the jam landed on mixtapes under the title “Number One.” On Tuesday, the apparently final version debuted under the official title “Crack a Bottle” (the name Em revealed last month when lamenting the leak). The new incarnation features Dr. Dre and 50 Cent.

Eminem’s lyrics are still the same. “So crack a bottle, let your body waddle/ Don’t act just like a sloppy model, you just hit the lotto,” Em raps on the chorus, after introducing himself like a ring announcer. “Uh-oh, uh-oh, bi—es, hoppin’ in my Tahoe/ I got one riding shotgun, and not one of them got clothes.”

A couple of weeks ago, Eminem told Billboard.com that he was disappointed about the song leaking, before it was ready.

“It wasn’t close to finished, and it even has me doing guide vocals for Dre as a suggestion of how he could lay his verses down,” he told the site. “It’s like someone catches you peeping in your window before you got the Spider Man costume all zipped up! Nobody is supposed to see that. We are gonna finish it up, though, and get it out there how it’s supposed to be.”

Interscope Records hasn’t released a statement about plans for the song, which will likely appear on Eminem’s Relapse, one of the most-anticipated new albums of 2009.

I think the song is Awesome, but I love Eminem, so I may be a little Bias.  Let me know what you think. This is not the radio edited version ,so I am putting a parental advisory warning on this video.

JOHN MAYER’S VARIETY SHOW

Posted in What's New with tags , , on January 14, 2009 by yvetteraven

john-mayer

John Mayer will be having his very own Variety Show.  According the  president of CBS Nina Tassler, “It’ll be a music variety sketch show, and it’s being developed now-it was his idea, we didn’t reach out to him.”  The show will initially be presented as a special. with possibility of a full-series pickup.

I love, love John Mayer.  I think that he is one of the most talented musicians alive, so I am very excited to see how this variety show goes.  I obviously dont know him personally, but from what I see on tv, he seems to have  a great sense of humor.  I know that he dibbled and dabbled in stand up comedy a few years ago, and word on the street was that he was pretty funny.  On a side note, if you ever get a chance to see John Mayer in concert, it will be one of the most memorable experiences of your life.  He is amazing.  For more information on John Mayer, please visit www.johnmayer.com

AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 8

Posted in What's Hot with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on January 14, 2009 by yvetteraven

As previously mentioned I will be following American Idol all season long, so here’s my recap.  These auditions took place in Arizona where over 10, 000 people auditioned.

Day 1:

There were a total of 9 contestants that made it to Hollywood.

The Good: Arianna Afsay, 16 years old, sang “Put your records on” and J.B Ahfua, who is also 16 years old.  They both sounded very mature for there age.

The Bad:  There were a couple of really bad ones but Michael Gurr, 17 years old, sang a Carrie Underwood song “Starts with a goodbye”  and it was the worst I have heard in a while.  I could not understand him at all. What was he thinking?

The ugly: Aundre Carway aka X-Ray, 20 years old, sang Cactus baby.  He sang awful and he looked awful.  He was just a  mess, and his dancing was truly unforgettable.

Day 2:

A total of 18 contestants made it through.

The Good:  I really loved Michael Sarver, 27 years old, sang “Thank you” by Boyz II Men.  He was the rugged, manly guy with an amazing voice. I also really liked Deanna Brown, 25 years old, sang Otis Redding  “Sitting on the dock of the bay”. She reminded me of Macy Gray.  Her voice is truly unique. On a side note the judges really liked 16 year old Stevie Wright who sang “At last”.  She was good, but I was not blown away by her.

The Bad:   First, Eric Thomas aka Sexual Chocolate aka Can’t sing to save his life, 17 years old, attempted to sing Stevie Wonder “Ribbons in the sky”.  It was awful, and he should sue the tattoo artist that branded him with his tattoo because his tattoo says Sexual Chacolate.  Second, Elijah Scarlett, 22 years old, has the deepest voice on the planet.  Seriously, this guy has the deepest voice I have ever heard in my entire life and he absolutely butchered his song “My first, My last, My everything.”

The skanky ugly: Katrina Darrell, 20 years old, sang “Vision of love”.  I think that she had an OK voice, but no one was listening.  In fact she did not even have to have a head.  Ms. Darrell decided that she was going to be noticed, so she auditioned in her Bikini.  She was a beautiful girl, but it was unnecessary.  But my favorite part of the entire show was when Kara Dioguardi gave her critique and while she was giving it, she sang a little bit of “Vision of Love” to show the contestant how its supposed to sound.  Well the contestants told Kara that she heard no difference in Kara’ rendition of “Vision of Love” than hers and Kara responded with the best line of the show “Hold on a minute b****”.  You go girl! Oh by the way, she made it to Hollywood.

Honorable Mention: Contestant Scott Macyntire, 23 years old, sang Billy Joel “And so it goes”, receives an Honorable mention. He is blind, but has not let his disability enable him from pursuing his dreams and now he is off to Hollywood.  Good for him.

David Archuleta and newest American Idol Judge Kara DioGuardi
David Archuleta and newest American Idol Judge Kara DioGuardi

American Idol is back.   The season premier starts Tonight at 8/7c on fox. I watched religiously last year and David Archuleta was and is my favorite.  I was on the fence on whether or not I was going to watch it this year, but I have to.  I am really interested to see how its going to be this year with the edition of the new judge Kara DioGuardi.  According to David Archuleta ,the newest judge on the show is “a tough person” and “a bit more picky than Paula. He also says that “She’s not afraid to tell it like it is and be herself.”  Well I will be following American Idol all season long and I will keep you updated on everything that goes on.

VANESSA HUDGENS IN “NEW MOON”

Posted in What's Hot with tags , , , on January 13, 2009 by yvetteraven

vanessa_hudgens1

According to People.com, the lovely Vanessa Hudgens has auditioned for Twilight Sequel.  She has auditioned for the part of werewolf  Leah Clearwater in the Twilight sequel New Moon, according to Ashley Green, who played Alice in Twilight.  Now, I just got hooked on Twilight over the weekend, when I finally saw the movie, and I am now in the process of reading the book, so I know nothing about the character Leah Clearwater.  But apparently in the Stephehie Meyer novels, Leah is her packs lone female werewolf.  I love Vanessa and I feel that this would be a great role for her, and it may help her shed her teeny bopper appeal.

I love Twilight

People.com is reporting that Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen are engaged. According to sources, the New England Quarterback proposed the  beautiful Brazilian supermodel on Friday.  They are actually one of my favorite “Hollywood” couples.  He seems like a great guy and she seems like a sweet girl.

Winner of Best Actress, Motion Picture, Drama

Winner of Best Actress, Motion Picture, Drama

The Golden Globes were on yesterday.  I enjoyed the awards show, but I do have one complaint.  Why was it so noisy in there?  Did you all notice that almost every presenter had to tell the celebrities to be quiet?  My favorite part of the night was the late Heath Ledger winning the award for Best Supporting Actor.  Slumdog Millionaire won the award for Best Motion Picture, Drama and Colin Farrell won the award for Actor, Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy.  For a complete list of winners go here.
